The Turris or Tower
Ok so we see that the Saxon Shore defense system was on both sides of the English Channel and usually near water ways. They were some distance away from each other and Rome. To keep in communication with each other and Rome the Romans erected small signal stations or towers. The Romans could send a message from England to Rome in a day using signals.
